All racing enthusiasts can cheer on their rubber duck, while they take part in the race in Kadrioru Canal and it is broadcasted live on ETV channel.

Duck Race is a charity event initiated by Estonian Association of Parents of Children with Cancer (EAPCC) – rubber ducks participate in a race in Kadrioru Canal. The aim of the event is raising awareness about the situation of children with cancer and their families, to inform and call enterprises and individuals to participate in helping families, where is a child with cancer. This year at least 15 247 ducks will take part. Even as the pandemic has reduced the possibilities to train – the race will be fierce.

Kaili Semm, the chairwoman of the board in Estonian Association of Parents of Children with Cancer, commented that despite the fact that traditional family day event did not take place already last year due to the pandemic, and the race was broadcasted on TV, it is evermore heart-warming to see that people participate in Duck Race and support children with cancer.

„There is a threat, that due to the pandemic, it is not safe to have public events. But still children who are in the fight of their lives, need our support. Mentally even more than ever“, said Semm. „On the 16 of April is the 29 birthday of Estonian Association of Parents of Children with Cancer. The news that Duck Race still is taking place despite all obstacles, is a birthday present to all our members, it is a present of hope and being together even if it is not physically possible“, added Semm.

It is possible to sponsor a rubber duck on the webpage www.pardiralli.ee by making a donation – buy a duck number of your family, friends or even co-workers.
